This policy explains what personal data we collect on sma-moldova.com, why and how we use it, and what rights you have. The data controller is the SMA Moldova Association, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova (e-mail: info@sma-moldova.com).
What data we collect
- Contact form: your name, e-mail address and the message you send us.
- Newsletter sign-up: your e-mail address.
- Technical data: on every visit the server automatically records the IP address, date and time, pages visited and browser type. These logs serve only the security and operation of the site and are kept for a limited period.
We do not ask for or collect health data through the site. If you choose to write to us about your medical situation, we use that information only to reply to you.
How we use the data
- To answer messages sent through the contact form.
- To send the association's news to those who subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every e-mail or by writing to us.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We do not sell or rent your data and do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and browser settings
The site does not set tracking cookies. Your preferences (light or dark theme, your choice in the consent banner) are stored locally in your browser and are not sent to us. If we start using visitor statistics, we will choose a tool that uses no cookies and does not identify visitors, and we will update this page.
Who else has access to the data
- The hosting provider: the site runs on servers in the European Union (Finland).
- The e-mail service through which we send notifications and news (Resend, USA), under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Public authorities, where the law requires it.
Links to Telegram, Facebook or other sites take you to platforms with their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Patient stories and photographs
Stories and photographs published on the site appear with the consent of the people concerned or their legal representatives. Consent can be withdrawn at any time: write to us and we will remove the material.
How long we keep the data
Contact-form messages: as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. Subscriber e-mail addresses: until you unsubscribe. Technical logs: a short period needed for security.
Your rights
Under Law No. 133/2011 of the Republic of Moldova on personal data protection and, where applicable, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), you have the right to request access to your data, its correction or deletion, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. For any request, write to info@sma-moldova.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova (datepersonale.md).
Security
The connection to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). Only the people in the association who answer messages have access to the form data.

We may update this policy; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
